Innovation
Energia Group is a long-standing leader in sustainable energy innovation, underpinned by a commitment to collaboration, customer value, and environmental responsibility. For over 20 years, we’ve delivered forward-thinking, tech-led solutions that support decarbonisation and empower consumers to actively participate in the energy system. Through continuous innovation, we create long-term value, strengthen resilience, and drive meaningful progress toward a low-carbon future.
Data Centre Development
Energia Group is developing a cutting-edge data centre at our Huntstown site in Dublin. The site offers a highly resilient and efficient energy infrastructure, making it an ideal location for sustainable digital development. This project represents a major milestone in aligning digital infrastructure with renewable energy leadership and positions Energia at the intersection of two critical sectors: energy and technology.
The facility will be powered by renewable electricity sourced from Energia’s expanding portfolio of onshore wind and solar projects. This project not only supports the growing demand for sustainable data services but also showcases Energia Group’s ability to attract global partners and invest in next-generation infrastructure that delivers long-term value, strengthens energy security, and reinforces our leadership in decarbonisation and digital innovation.

Energy Transition Solutions
Energia Group is dedicated to facilitating the energy transition for both residential and business customers by offering a comprehensive suite of innovative solutions. Our goal is to empower customers to adopt sustainable energy practices, reduce carbon emissions, and achieve greater energy efficiency through our diverse product offerings.
Energy Insights and Smart Metering
Energy Insights and Smart Metering
Energia Group is driving innovation in customer energy management through smart meter tariffs and our Energy Insights App. With approximately 2 million smart meters now installed across Ireland, we offer flexible, usage-based pricing plans that align with real-time consumption.
By combining advanced metering with digital tools, we’re enabling customers to optimise energy use, reduce costs, and actively participate in the energy transition—reinforcing our leadership in smart, customer-centric sustainability solutions.
Solar Energy and Microgeneration
Solar Energy and Microgeneration
Energia Group is expanding access to clean energy by delivering integrated solar and battery storage solutions that help customers reduce grid reliance, lower energy costs, and contribute to national climate objectives.
We also champion microgeneration, enabling domestic customers to produce their own renewable electricity through solar PV. These initiatives reflect our commitment to empowering consumers, advancing sustainable energy adoption, and driving long-term value through innovation at scale.

Green Hydrogen
Energia Group is positioning itself as the leading producer of renewable hydrogen on the island of Ireland, supported by strategic funding from EU (Interreg) and UK (OLEV) sources. By leveraging surplus wind generation during periods of low electricity demand or high wind output, the Group is pioneering hydrogen as a sustainable transport fuel—enabling deeper integration of renewables into the energy mix. The project includes the installation of a 1 MW electrolyser at Long Mountain Wind Farm. Key partnerships include the deployment of three hydrogen-powered double-decker buses and a five-year supply agreement with Translink, Northern Ireland’s public transport provider—laying the foundation for a low-carbon, hydrogen-fuelled future.

Maritime Transport
Energia Group has been involved at the forefront of innovation in studies, projects and initiatives to decarbonise maritime transport. In our latest projects, Project Green Iron, we are partnering with Artemis Technologies to power the world’s first 100% electric high-speed foiling passenger ferry. The project will trial capturing green energy from one of our wind farms in County Antrim, to operate the EF-24 Passenger ferry’s Belfast to Bangor pilot scheme.
This innovative green energy pilot aims to maximise the use of renewable wind energy being generated in Northern Ireland by better matching times when there is low demand and high wind generation. The two locations will be linked in the cloud to enable real-time simultaneous communication and control over electricity generation and demand, and ultimately will provide an innovative smart grid solution to vessel charging using 100% renewable electricity.
